    Jake was past it when he won. He had hell's own time with a 1 handed Cerdan. Then he lost non title and scraped by Dauthille. French fighters befuddled him. Lol. But a fired up for revenge Cerdan? Forgettaboutit.

    Cerdan was more past it than LaMotta though.
    Cerdan was about 5 or 6 years older than LaMotta and about 8 years older than Dauthuille.

    He died tragically young. But he was old for a fighter, 15 years or more since he turned pro, and 33 years old.

    The rematch was scheduled for september but LaMotta got injured 6 days before the fight.
    It was pushed back to december 2nd so both guys went on vacation for a month or so.
    Cerdan flew back to France and died on the plane back in late october.

    I think I'll take Cerdan. After Jake won the title he started on the downhill ride
