there is limited film of lamotta but in his autobiography he claims he and or his mother have films of him and his robinsons wars and other fights. does anyone know if this is true and if so what films does jake secretly hoard?

the only thing that makes this claim posible is the fact that lamotta had the cerdan fight privatly filmed at his own expense and it is only because he did this that there is any recorded footage of that fight. I think he sold it to jimmy jacobs in the 1960's and thats how it came into circulation, its a good bet jake would have sold any further films he had at that time if he had any. before the home video boom there wasnt much market for old fight films beyond home cine films for those with projectors and i recon jacobs/clayton made good profit from them later on..

He doesnt have any films. When he was divorced all of his stuff like that either went to Vicky or was given over to her by him for safe keeping. She stated she never had any films. Keep in mind that on several different occasions after retiring LaMotta was nearly destitute without a pot to **** in. Do you really think when he had nothing but a ratty old coat on his back he was hauling around cans of films for safe keeping???
