Don't see it , he didn't move that great at middleweight. After he couldn't knockout Hagler he couldn't get away, Jake would be in his grill. Wouldn't surprise me if Hearns went belly up about round 9

I see Hearns sharp punches cutting up a guy like Jake, who was very open and guys like that would be hit by Hearns.

I see him winning all 3 and stopping Benn too. Nigel Benn didn't stand up to continued punishment well.

Not a single one of those mother****ers knocks LaMotta out. So its a question of who outboxes him and withstands the pressure. Over 15 rounds, he beats all.

I have seen Jake fighting. He is too open for Hearns. Just because an era is before, doesn't mean it is better. A guy who is open was terrible for Hearns who was a sharp shooter.I cannot see Lamotta beating the great Thomas Hearns. Benn? maybe...

Nobody to have ever laced a pair of gloves at MW stops LaMotta.

La Motta beats Jackson and Benn. The Hearns fight could go either way, it would be similar to Hearns - Roldan. I would bet on Tommy though

on cuts Hearns could or Jones could beat Lamotta also. Speed could. He was a very open fighter and he had a lot of fights, but Hearns and Jones had a lot of amateur fights with guy just as good as some of the guys or most on LaMotta's record. They fought a lot then, but they also fought a lot of bums. And they were open and made for great fights, but remember the amatuers like Hearns and Jones who had many amateur fights before turning pro know the technique in a way which is underrated.. Amatuer's today are not that great and it has gone down... But the guy in the 1970s and 1980s were a little better being influenced by Ray and other guys winning golds and Ali.. I just don't think Lamotta is a sure thing against a fast skilled boxer who had a long amateur career. Remember Hearns had 163 amateur fights.

Have to remember as well, Hearns didn't really have a dominant run at middle. He had the ko loss to Hagler, no disgrace, then the wobbly moments with Roldan Followed by Barkley stopping him. So if he does decide to trade with LaMotta then he could suffer a similar fate.

You may have a point. Hearns and Jackson both COULD stop Jake, but the man fought SRR 6 times without going down. TKO? Maybe by Hearns. I guess it's 50/50 either Jackson or Lamotta get KO'd.

SRR lost a few times also. The question, who punched harder Hearns or SRR..AT middleweight Hearns was not as big a puncher as 147 and 154, but he could still punch. I am thinking more that Hearns or any of the guys with extensive amateur backgrounds could give Jake a good fight. Some of those guys had 300 amateur fights.

We've all seen Jake fight. Lamotta had great defense, I don't know where you got the impression that he was too open. Watch closely and you will see that he rarely gets hit clean.
