What is this site coming to? We have ; Golden Hulk Bah Lance And this clown ****'s Corner! At the first sign of disagreement he reports me ,then he wants to fight me.What a sad excuse for a man! Dear oh dear!
I thought Benn in the Eubank rematch showed body and heavy movement as good as anything I've seen In about the later mid rounds there was a point he ducked, slipped and weaved his way around the most rapid-fire 5-6 punch combination you'll see a 180+lb man (Eubank) throw, it was hideous
Perhaps...perhaps not? I guess it is all in your perspective. I made the final comment as a joke just to see if any one read. Anyway I don’t plan on debating after this post because I am well aware of most of this forums opinions on both Eubank and LaMotta prior to this thread. And really I don’t care that deeply anymore. In seriousness I do think it would be a close fight but stand by my 8-4 116-112 prediction. Did he fight anyone of LaMottas caliber? Again perhaps perhaps not? But he was undefeated at 160, beat a more skilled boxer IMO in Watson and a stronger bigger puncher in Benn. So frankly I think he was adaptable enough to handle whatever LaMotta might bring. I have been on this forum 10+ years and again am well acquainted with the common perception where Eubank is held in low regard, and LaMotta in high regard. That is cool, my money would go on Eubank!
There is definitely a disdain for Eubank on this meaningless message board thing, probably because of all the media attention he received and the money he made compared to some classical historically great fighters who are pretty much unknown and died potless, despite their technical mastery. It overshadows just how good Eubank was. He had the longest unbeaten reign in boxing before his defeat (in both length of time and amount of fights) for a reason! Opponents from all over the world in the top ten had to adapt to HIS style and couldn't master it. Eubank has a style that no other fighter had, so LaMotta or anyone wouldn't have seen anything like it before, and when Eubank was given a lead he was a very hard man to claw back against because he stayed just out of range with that uncanny ring generalship, the more the gap was closed the more countering opportunities he had and he was a sharp counter puncher...
Benn wasn't stronger than Eubanks. Lamotta fought big punchers like.; Lloyd Marshall Danny Nardico Bob Satterfield Ray Robinson Joey Dejohn Marcel Cerdan Jimmy Edgar Bob Murphy How many times was he stopped?
LaMotta. Unknown. Lol. And LaMotta did fight Lytell, who was a very awkward southpaw, though much more aggressive than Eubank.
Not sure if you have a beef with me? But I never said anyone was getting stopped and really don’t think either guy would get stopped. 2nd I thought it was clear in the way I wrote it, but perhaps I was grammatically incoherent? I was meaning that Eubank beat a boxer more skilled than LaMotta (Watson) and a stronger more powerful fighter than LaMotta in Benn. Not that Benn or Eubank we’re stronger than the other.
Eubanks defended a spurious. lightly regarded title, avoiding the best in two divisions. He was an up his own arse ego maniac who affected a fake accent when interviewed ,and proffered longwinded words that were not appropriate to the subject being discussed , a deluded pompous joke.Just like yourself! As for those fighters of a higher quality who died potless? How much of the money Eubanks made has he got now?
Use the reply function next time. And that subject is more suited for the lounge. You are knowingly race baiting here for a reaction. LaMotta never had problems with cuts. This website had some major problems with racists. You're likely to get banned soon.
Bert Lytell features in Springs Toledo's excellent ."Murderers Row," his chapter is entitled "The Beast of Stillman's Gym",He would have run Eubanks out of the ring!
