Robinson fought and beat Lamotta 4 times while weighing in as a true welter. Could Mayweather with his speed and elusiveness out box a prime Lamotta?

Gun to my head, I'd pick Floyd with little hesitation.

A case can be made for Lamotta, but I wouldn't bet on it considering how hittable he was and how nobody has ever worn Floyd down with aggression, which is what Jake would attempt.

I don't think so guys.. Jake to big and strong for Floyd. Floyd never fought a LaMotta caliber tough guy, not even close.. Jake throws Floyd up against the ropes and mauls him good.

Jake tears him a new one.

Remind me which world-class middleweight Mayweather even fought, let alone beat? He won a bogus super welterweight title by draining the everloving **** out of a young Canelo, but he never ventured up to middleweight and for good reason.

A man can jump only so much in weight, especially if his opponent has his number in terms of style. Sure, Floyd never lost to a pressure fighter (on paper), but he always struggled with them greatly (Castillo, Maidana, Hatton to a certain degree) and LaMotta is a better than any of them. Not only is he physically stronger, gutsier, busier and far tougher, but he also had sublime and subtle technical skills in the mold of a young Roberto Duran. He wasn't some unpolished caveman.

I don't think Mayweather can deal with what LaMotta brings to the table here.

F@(kin' A+ brother. JAKE by stoppage. Don't EVER compare Robinson and light hitting afraid Mayweather fighting every fight in his adopted hometown and wearing 12 ounce gloves. 1940s Floyd just another weak welter who gets stomped by the Bull. In the 40s fightingoften without his hometown crap and every whim allowed, he doesn't even make top ten. Much less beat the great La Motta.

God this isn't even something you have to think about. A big, strong, middleweight with an iron chin who isn't afraid to take punches to get in there and work and loves to go to the body against a light hitting overprotected ww who relies on upper body movement against the ropes. The WWs that gave LaMotta any kind of problems had power. LaMotta would literally wear Mayweather's ass out. Id say Mayweather goes into survival mode and hears the final bell but loses a UD. That's if the fight happens today.

Take Mayweather out of Las Vegas where he can use PEDs and novacaine and place him in 1943 with smaller gloves and a ref that actually lets you fight on the inside, etc and LaMotta brutalizes him.

You take that right :) What Klompton said nailed it! LaMotta fought the guys NOONE would fight. Against as mayweather, he has zero problems. Floyds on shot popshotting would get him killed in the 40s. No ref to save hime. I would pay big bucks to see pretty boy made to fight prime Zivic or the prime inporterble Homicide Hank. Floyd would have been laughed out of the sport as a coward in the 40s.

LaMotta would win. Probably by decision. He was too physical and too strong. Floyd didn't have enough offense to stop LaMotta from coming forward and pummeling the body. One or two little potshots isn't going to affect The Raging Bull from fighting his fight. Floyd would get mauled.

Me too !!! Can you imagine with all the experience Zivic actually has with fighting his 4 brothers everyday and all the street fights growing up in Pittsburg. I am sure he had harder hitters to face in the streets than a PBF

Mayweather would have 5 inches of reach on him.

Btw Mayweather beat two lineal middleweight champions a short time before them taking the championship.
