Jake Lamotta vs Hagler's championship opposition

Hearns and Leonard beat him

 

No Leonard would gas like he did vs Hagler and Jake out jabbed Robinson before gassing in their last fight, Robi didn`t like dealing with the jab and neither did Leonard if you stuck a good jab in his face it stopped him getting his offense going, Jake would have outjabbed and made him gas with a great body attack, LaMotta had a Barkley style of fighting except he was harder to hit, his crouching would help him evade Tommy`s punches, it would be like the second Barkley fight v Hearns but faster because it would be at the lighter weight.

 

Along with the other two I mentioned above, the only others on the list that would stand a chance were Duran and Mugabi, because of their workrate, both fights would be like their fights with Hagler except LaMotta didn`t have Marvin`s power, he had his chin though, Mugabi could not knock Jake out and Roberto wouldn`t dump him on the floor like Barkley.

LaMotta was a bit inconsistent and was always fighting t make the weight as he would have been a natural 168 pounder .. I can see him beating all or losing decisions to Vito, Minter, Sibson and Duran .. Leonard and Hearns over ten rounds too for sure ..

 

This is a tough line up for any middleweight .. Haglers body of work dosen't get enough credit at times..I'm not so sure LaMotta cruises through this .. He could get out boxed/lose to several of these guys .. or at least most are live here.. And I like both Hagler and Monzon over LaMotta h2h

 

People often really don't know how tough this line up was ..Alan Minter was a terrific fighter. What held him back was his susceptibility to cuts. Vito could fight and was a former world champ who defeated and held his own with many top fighters. Obel, Hamsho, Sibson, Roldon were all very tough guys .. Duran and Hearns were two all time great fighters ... everyone of these guys was dangerous ..

 

Leonard's the only threat IMO, LaMotta at his best that is.

go 12 rounds with a toddler like peanut butter he'd be on Leonard Lamar would destroy that Leonard that couldn't go 12 rounds

 

Jake v Vito would be a magnificent brawl. Can't clearly predict a winner with that one. Minter would win providing he does n't allow himself to be sucked into a brawl. Leonard beats Lamotta. Hearns and Duran emerge victorious.
