Jake Lamotta vs Hagler's championship opposition

it is hard to rate guys from the past and say they would win easily. The older the fighter the more credit he gets. Just how it works. We would be surprised by fights if we really could match older generations with newer.

 

Jake definitely loses some here. Doesn't look all that impressive on film to me if he had more power yes but it's not the case.
I read in another thread a poster had Jake out jabbing Leonard. I just dont see that happening ever even a MW version of Leonard.

 

except for Hearns those guys were old when they fought Hagler. No way they stand up to the bodybattering and fog like pressure prime Jake lays n them. As for Tom Jake would pound that body & set a fire alarm pace. His granite chin would wear out or break tommys hand exhaust hearns. then hearns legs do the old colt just being born dance then TTTTIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBBBBBBB RRRRRRRRRRRFRFFFFFFF

 

Not quite fair. Imagine the only film you see of Leonard was from the Hagler fight on. Or Duran from Hagler on. You would have no impression of how they fought in their primes. Ditto for Jake. Keep that in mind.

Dont know if I believe that. I've read it but unless Ray just abandoned his jab I dont c it happening
