    15 rounds at super middleweight.
LaMotta is the perfect come forward 'foil' for Toney...and his counter punches...But would LaMotta's pressure eventually turn the tide of the fight? :think

Initial reaction would be Toneys silky defence and counter punching to get the better of the Raging Bull, but then again Toney wasnt living the life while he was a super middle and I doubt he could do 15 rounds if he was weight drained, so maybe LaMotta could overwhelm the fat git and TKO him late or decision.

Realistically though H2H I would pick Toney over La Motta, who was one dimensional to say the least.

Depends on how many punches LaMotta throws.

Toney eats come-forward types up, but only if they avoid throwing combos.

I'd bet on Jake, too tough with that granite chin!

It'll look like another Toney-Barkley, but probably going to distance. Very wide decision on points, one-sided fight.

I pick Toney by decision or late stop on cuts. He's just too slick for Jake.

It might not be as one sided as the Barkley fight but i too see Toney dominating Lamotta with wicked smooth counter shots all day.

I don't see the Barkley comparison, LaMotta was a very scientific swarmer with excellent intelligence and technique.

I would certainly expect this one to go the distance, and be very very close. The judging might be the key factor, you might see LaMotta being the more active aggressor, but Toney landing the cleaner blows throughout.

I agree in part with the last post. LaMotta was much more scientific and nuanced than people give him credit for. Toney fought like an old school fighter too which is what would make this such a joy to watch. Toney obviously has a huge advantage in handspeed and quickness. Both men know how to roll with a punch. The old school fighters from back in the day almost always fought eachother more than once. But for one fight I'll take the Bronx Bull to wear Toney down and almost have him out of there in the last round. Jake was, and is, such a hard man with rawboned toughness and reliability in tough battles that you just rarely see anymore. He was a tough man from a tough neighborhood. They don't make many like that anymore.

LaMotta W 15 Toney in a fight for the ages. The crowd is delirious at the end.

Scientific, my ass. He's light years behind Toney in science and cleverness.

You're doing the same thing you always do. You hate iconic figures like Dempsey, Marciano, LaMotta, etc. who happen to be american and white. You always pick against them and come off as a smartass who is just trying to **** people off. Maybe you had a bet back in 1980 when the United States beat the soviets in the upset of the century in hockey? You probably have a Putin T-shirt on right now and '**** america' slogans all over your flat or wherever you live.

Were Benny Leonard, Willie Pep and Barney Ross white Americans too? They are my #2, #7 and #10 all-time P4P.
