Okay! But why no Peter McNeely? Where the HELL is Duane Bobbick on your list? How about Bruce 'the mouse' Strauss? See I was telling the truth dude! You are biased!

    By the way, just kidding.

How about the great Irish-american heavyweight named Bill Corrigan who went about 67 seconds with Wlad Klitschko back in 1996? Don't tell me left him out too? For christsakes what is going here? When is sanity and common sense gonna return to this site! If you think Corrigan was bad just imagine the 14 stiffs he actually managed to beat!

If you think I'm a fan of Russian boxers, like Valuev, Povetkin, etc, you are wrong too. I don't care about nationality or race, not in boxing, not in internet in general, not in real life either. I judge boxers by what they show in the ring, and LaMotta on film is not scientific at all, same as contemporary writers in his time weren't too impressed with his skills and technique.

Thanks Senya. Now I will offer my opinions on the subject we are discussing.

Best puncher of alltime: The zulu warrior and boxing hall of fame heavyweight Courage Tshabalala.

Most effective aggression: Peter "Hurricane" McNeely.

Best HW boxer ever: Carlton West

Toughest: Frankie "the Tenessee Stud" Swindell or just plain "Fearless" Frankie Swindell.

Honorable Mention: Brian Yates, Brian "Mister" Sargent, John Basil Jackson

he had a limp wristed jab, a can do left hook and bit of a right hand. this is one dimensional he has no main weapons all he had was chin and staying power and bull rushing attacks...toney totally destroyed anyone who tried to outmuscle him.

I do believe, yes, that Jake was a better boxer than Viki LaMotta (his late wife) portrayed by Cathy Moriarity in the great movie "Raging Bull."

Toney struggled and normally lost against so many guys at 160 lbs who weren´t half the fighter LaMotta was (Tiberi, Johnson, Sosa, etc.), I have to pick LaMotta, although I don´t like him. His iron chin, stamina and high pace would trouble Toney and get him the W...

so every spilt decision toney gets, you pick the other guy. I personally think he clearly beat johnson and sosa, people get too harsh on toney, tiberi si the only fighter he lost to. Lamotta has over 15 losses, so its quitew easy to pick him apart too.

No, I just talk about a fighter when I saw him fight or read enough about him (old fighters for example), not like many others here who just look at boxrec. Against Tiberi Toney definitely lost, against Sosa he also won only because of the judges and the point deductions, against an older McCallum it was razor- thin, the same against Johnson, Nunn boxed his ears off, until the lucky KO, and so on, Toney´s resume at 160 lbs looks impressive when you read it, but when you saw some of his fights there, than you know why I can´t pick him to beat a great fighter like in this example LaMotta (you said he had over 15 L´s, right, but he also managed to beat fighters like SRR, Zivic, Holman Williams, Yarosz, etc.)...

i have his fights against nunn and mccallum, so what if mccallum was older, he started his boxing career in his late 20s anyways. The nunn boxing his ears off is so overrated. Toney won the last 2-3 rounds before the ko and he was getting hurt badly, it was only matter of time before nunn was going to get stopped.

Hey, you know what, I agree with you on that, I have overacted with my last post ("He boxed his ears off"), but IMO Nunn was clearly ahead until the 11th round- stoppage, my point was simply that Toney´s career at 160 lbs was very lucky, he should have some L´s here, and I didn´t want to criticize Toney with my last post or so, I just meant that I wouldn´t see a shutout against a proven world- class fighter like LaMotta, especially with his iron chin ( great fighters with shaky chins would be in trouble against a 160 lbs Toney, because he had at this weight excellent and underrated power)...

What was your scorecard for this bout? Or what did you read about this fight if you haven't seen it?

I don´t know exactly the scorecards of every fight I´ve seen. I know it was very close, both very hurt at some point and Sosa was even KD early in the fight, and I didn´t say Sosa was robbed or so. But like always, Toney was lucky and got the decision.
