Hagler by clear UD. Marvin would never be in danger of losing, but Jake's toughness keeps him in it.

Not that I think Hagler couldn't stop LaMotta if he really tried, though.

Gotta go the opposite way my pal. I got Hagler in a hard fought UD. Lamotta does have an underrated jab but Hagler has that piston jab with the longer reach and more power. I also have no idea how many left handers Jake fought so that could potentially be a factor. Lastly and of no revelanc I cant stand LaMotta. Just had to add that in lol

Hagler wins a decision in a nasty, hard fought technical WAR. Marvin would have to be SHARP here, and more than likely utilise his legs. Both men have brilliant defense and combos.

I agree with Burt Randolph Sugar in 1984s great "100 Greatest Boxers of All Time" that Tony was in the top 10 pd f pd of all time.

I couldn't really disagree with that, especially H2H.

Have to go with Marvin in a violent scrap over 15 long, tough rounds. A nice matchup.

Prime Marvelous Marvin Hagler outboxes Prime Jake La Motta, to win a unanimous 15 round decision. Hagler fought a hotly disputed 15 round draw against Vito Antuofermo, on Nov 30 1979, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Vito was the aggressor throughout the whole fight, even cutting Hagler over the eyebrow. In the return bout, Marvelous defended his World Middleweight Title with a TKO4 over Antuofermo, on June 13 1981, in Boston. Marvelous boxed masterfully slicing up Vito, to stop him. Knowing how to fight a brawler, he would keep his right jab in La Motta's face all night. Hagler would show good footwork, and fire precise combinations. When Jake comes in, he would be met by clinching. It would be a clinic performance by the Marvelous one. The first Antuofermo fight served as a great lesson for Hagler. The Matador And The Bull,as the great Sugar Ray Robinson said of his bout with Jake La Motta.

Hagler on points, his better jab being key

    Great fight.

I'd favour Hagler by virtue of his tip top attack and jab but La Motta's a threat and pest the whole fight. Hagler by virtue of cleaner shots landed wins but Jake gives Marvin a bloody hard nights work.

I'd stake my childrens life on it being a distance fight though, The two best chins of all time duking it out couldn't be anything other than a distance fight.
