Can LaMotta take Benn's punch? That's hard to call. If he can, he beats him.

Silly question LaMotta had one of if not maybe the greatest chin ever. He stops Benn late.

LaMotta would outpoint Benn in a great fight...maybe late stop as some have said.

I believe Benn was most robust natural hitter of filmed middles

Whew...some fight. Benn was a hell of a puncher and not too bad a boxer. LaMotta was as durable as any man at this weight and also not too bad a boxer.
Lamotta's biggest asset (durability) neautralises Benn's biggest asset. (Power)
Benn I think would look a certain bet early on as he belted Lamotta with hard shots. LaMotta works the body and gets to close the gap after several rounds of action.

I don't know if Benn can hang on for 15 rounds. 12 possibly yeah but 15 is a long time. Over the longer distance I think Lamotta does enough to get the nod. Stoppage is possible too.

The Problem for Nigel here is that the 'More Rounded' and patient approach didnt really kick in until he went to 168lb, So you can say that you are still dealing with the Predator minded Benn, The Hunter who was constantly looking to Live up to his 'Dark Destroyer' Nickname, and as we saw it got him into difficulties on Occassion, instead of Tucking up and taking a round off This Benn Fueled by emotion simply lashed back Fighting Fire with Fire .. Oh So Exciting... But Risky, Against Jake he is not going to try and Matador him, Its Mac Truck Time...But this time he's up against a Bulldozer...

Jake does not bring anything complicated to the Table, a Granite Chin A Granite Will, Solid Punching and No reverse Gear..Nigel would not have to go Looking... It would be interesting to see what happened if he nailed Jake with the Type of Left Hook that Quivered through Doug Dewitt and sent him to the Canvas, I have no doubt he could Shake Jake .. but it must also be remembered that Dewitt sent Nigel to the Canvas with pretty basic left hook in the 2nd round, if it happens here I dont think Jake would let Nigel off the Hook because of Nigels mentality to lash back,

I think it would perhaps take to the 7th or 8th round for Jake to Empty the Benn Tank of Defiance,

( I think through styles i would Fancy Chris Eubank to Successfully Matador Jake !)

If Ray Robinson can beat on Lamotta for 13 rounds and still not floor him then I think Lamotta can withstand Benn's punch.

Benn hit much harder at 160 and was more aggressive...I don't follow.
