Fun fight to watch. Up until that Watson fight, Nigel came out firing on all cylinders. Both hands. But the middles that have the whiskers to weather storms---like Jake and Fullmer and Tiger to name a few---are going to take him to the later parts of the bout when the Benn parachute opens.

tko 8 or 9 and that's a long rebuilding project for one of the multitude of trainers Benn used. Those late round stoppages sure seem to take a ton out of the sluggers, don't they?

Jake....his legendary toughness wins this for him...he will wear Benn down...IMO

 

LaMotta wasn`t a mad fighter, he was a very savvy offensive fighter.

 

Jake wasn`t a puncher so it could last till around the 9th or 10th, but Benn`s stamina was awful at 160, as you could see from the Watson fight and LaMotta`s body punching v Robi in their final bout was awesome, and that would drain Benn`s stamina.

 

The older they get the better they are....

Styles make fights , Benn stops him brutally.

 

This question really boils down to is nigel benn better than Robinson, which should be a huge hell no, i definitely don't see a knock out unless the mob has a angle...........benn would have to pray he cuts Jake up to a stoppage, there from such different eras I don't know how this fight would look and wouldn't bet on it, unless I was drunk then I'd bet on jake.

 

LaMotta. Benn would have some nice early rounds but LaMotta would break him down and either wear him out late or take a decision.
