I think he would beat both, this is if i am pushed to pick a winner of course. Both of these opponents are world class,
Carter has the power to put most middleweights out but I can't see him knocking out LaMotta. He was only truly a "Hurricane" in the early rounds but slowened down later on, while LaMotta would get stronger and stronger. Briscoe on the other hand is much more consistent in his attack but he is even more crude than Jake whose abilities I feel are a little underrated.
