i know that (supposedly) this is the only film of their six wars. what i want to know is haw many different versions of it are available? that includes being shot from different angles, commentary, and the whole shabang. i watched it last night and just cant believe whatan iron man lamotta is. and srr ,what a sharpshooter and dancer. totally awsome.also with todays rehydration rules would a prime lamotta at 154 whip a prime srr at 154 specially if jake wasnt drained from making weight. the other fights were very close and they say posibbly three-three each what do you guys think?also with todays hydration rules and new technology would an undrained lamotta of the 1951 st valentines massacare won that fight? it was close up till bout the eight through the tenth then robinson kicked his ass.

One version is the theatre version one is the kinescope taken of the television broadcast. They are from slightly different angles. They can be purchased from various traders.

I think modern rules might have benefitted/extended LaMotta's career but I think he was always going to have problems with Robinson. I think more than anything winning the title took a lot of wind out of LaMotta's sails. He spend years and years trying to get a shot and once he won the title it was like he reached the peak of the mountain and had no other goals. He was still a top fighter but his edge was gone. Reminds me a lot of Frazier finally beating Ali in 71. Frazier was a monster with something to prove until he finally got Ali in the ring, showed everyone he could whip him decisively and then lost that edge and was never the same fighter again.
