Hearns would batter Lamotta who would be directly in front of him. No 5'8 155/165 pound guy with much less reach and speed is beating the hitman who would also have beat Sugar Ray had he listened to Steward in training preperation. Lamotta was not very skilled he was tough, but not that tough. This content is protected
If you are willing to debate it we can but other than that you can **** off with the racist bull****.
Lamotta was as easy to hit as the Heavy bag in the gym. It wouldnt get ANY easier for Hearns to land on him at will.
Please point out this great defense here? He gets hit with countless jabs...many hooks and uppercuts from the taller Hearns like fight in this VERY video??? You know why? Because he fought with his head first and hands down....is this DECENT defense? Maybe to you but we clearly have a different view on MANY things in boxing. lmao Even in the vid you posted hes getting tagged? Really this brain washing is unbelievable...there is NOTHING defensive about the guy and 6'1 80 inch reach sharp shooter Hearns would have a field day . smh This content is protected
Lamotta slips the first punch thrown at him at 0:03, slips another jab at 0:08 seconds, 0:11, 0:14, slips and ducks about 3 or 4 from 0:23-0:25, several punches throughout Lamotta times and pulls back ever so slightly to get out of range but the slips are still noticeable, rolls with a jab at 0:59. Those are just in the first minute. Lamotta was extremely well versed in defense not just for an aggressive constant come forward fighter but for any fighter.
Over the 15 round distance? Hearns has the advantage in height, speed and reach. He is the more gifted athlete. LaMotta was rougher, tougher and had much more durability. Boxing is a warrior`s game. Jake LaMotta by late stoppage with his body attack playing a huge role in folding the Hitman.
Despite the fact you might want to believe that SRR had a better chin than Hearns he did not. SRR was knocked down through out his career by guys who weren't punchers. Also look at the level of skill the fighters he fought had. A bunch of slow, unskilled Italian fighters for the most part. Anyway Hearns is naturally bigger and stronger than Ray. He punched harder than Ray. If Ray could knock out LaMotta then so could Hearns. Hearns in less than 8 rounds.
When i look to answer this thread i thought immediately Tommy on points. But when you look closer it depends on what era it was fought in. Jake struggled in 1942 (weight) with first fight with Robinson. By the time they fought in 1951 Jake weight problems which were immortalized in Raging Bull his walking weight outside the ring was close to 190 lbs. With today 24 hr weigh in Jake would come in the ring at closer to 175 - 180 lbs and being a truly raging bull with strength. If fought in Jake era then Hearns on points and if today a rehydrated and re energized Jake would win on points. Nobody can ever ko a granite chinned Jake at middleweight.
12 rounds is tough for lamotta, gotta pick hearns 15 is much closer, a decision is more likely to go to hearns, but i'll go with him getting stopped late, with at least 1 broken hand.
