i just watched first fight against SRR and i can say that LaMotta had incredible jab.. no one speaks about it, just had to mention

 

Do you mean the last fight? He did jab well in that one.

The book I read by Dave Anderson on Sugar Ray has Ray stating something like when he was hit by Lamotta "it felt like a knife across his stomach and he knew he was hit by the Bronx Bull", or something like that.. On top of that Robinson was knocked down a few times by Lamotta. I think Jake hit hard enough to earn respect but he wasn't a KO puncher.

He is hard to place like Basilio and Greb. Punchers with not a lot of KO's. Some guys are just pure fighters. They don't look for anything other than to cause pain on the other guy. Graziano is known as a puncher and rightly so but, I think if him and Jake ever had locked up, I think the power would have been on Jake's side.

I just have that feeling.
