He's KO'd a youtuber, a basket ball player, and a chubby wrestler who didn't bother to get in shape for the fight. He's not shown a single sign that he'd fair well against a professional boxer, in the slightest, and if the pro boxer shows up seriously trying to win, we have absolutely no reason to believe Jake would win. The only thing that could lead to a Jake win is the fact that he is passionate about what he does, and if the pro turns up out of shape and doesn't take it seriously, Jake could win, but only for that reason.
Lucas Browne, who is a lot better than Szpilka, just got stopped in the first round against an old rugby player, whose technique is a lot worse than Paul's.
Browne is 42, Gallen has been boxing for nine years and has wins over pro boxers. Jake does not have a win over any pro.
LOL come to my gym and fight a top 500 HW, see how unskilled they are. Top 100 HW is in the top 7.5% of HW PROS on earth. Lennox Lewis called Szpilka a very good fighter. You know more than Lewis?
Gallen's record and wins over "pro boxers" aside from Browne Purcell 1-1-0 Watts 1-0 Rayment 1-0 Thompson debut Purcell 7-4 Paulo debut Ketu 2-0 Rasaubale debut Hopoate 12-5 Hall debut Hunt 0-1-1 Yes, these men totally earned their living from "professional boxing".
These men all have proven themselves worthy of a pro boxing license and only one has a losing record. Also at this point Szpilka would surely be a 5 to 1 favorite against Browne. I like Browne, but he was never good off the juice.
I aint saying it's impossible Jake could win, but what I'm saying is there's no evidence to suggest that he would win against a pro boxer that was fighting seriously. I could putting a pair of boxing gloves, and there's a chance I could beat a pro boxer on the right day, but the chances are very slim. Jake has not shown any sign that he could threaten a serious pro, and mentioning isolated incidents here and there of pro boxers losing against cab drivers isn't strong evidence of anything. Anyone can win on there day, but you can't just say that of Jake Paul, you could say that about KSI, Logan etc etc. If we all work hard and train, if there stars align you can beat anyone, but I've not seen a scrap of evidence Jake would beat any serious heavyweight. I do expect him to beat a pro boxer at some point, but it will likely be one that's fat and out of shape and only there to collect the biggest pay cheque of their career.
I've been in many gyms with "professional heavyweights", and they are mostly fat slobs who could easily make cruiserweight at the very least had they been in shape. "Top 100 HW is in the top 7.5% of HW PROS on earth" - come again? You fail to see that the accreditation of "pro" when it comes to boxing is highly flawed, because there are top 100 world ranked (via Boxrec) heavyweights who are making the vast majority of their living out of the ring. A "top 500" ranked heavyweight is nothing but nonsensical. They are not a professional by any means and are nothing more than a charlatan. Re: Lewis, this forum would not exist if every user had to abide by the contrasting views of all former boxers. The fact that they are contrasting should tell you that not every opinion can be correct.
Yes, because it's very difficult to obtain a "pro license". You're outing yourself now. "off the juice" - lol, because passing anti-doping protocol means you are "off the juice", right? You clearly know nothing about anti-doping policy and governance. All top level athletes are on the sauce.
They are professional boxers because they are paid money to box. Even if you want to use the term semi professional, Jake Paul has fought nothing of the sort. I’m rooting for Jake, he will show people pros are human. However, he has not proven anything against cruisers much less HW pros rated in the top 75
If you can't see that Paul has sufficient technique and desire to land a single punch on Szpilka's head then more fool you. A "pro boxer" means nothing, unless they are good at their job, and Szpilka is absolutely terrible. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that Szpilka can take a punch to the head, it's there on film, and Paul clearly has the ability to time and throw a straight right hand. If you don't want to believe it then so be it, but your head is in the sand and your jealousy is clouding your objectivity.
An acquaintance of mine has a "pro license" and has been paid to box (record of 3-0), he's also a taxi driver and delivery man.
Szpilka is in the top 5% of pro HWs, he is not terrible at all. He is better than amateur Oblast and for USA state champions by a mile
Indeed... There may be levels between him and top ten level fighters, but there's also a huge difference between a second-tier gatekeeper and someone who holds a licence but won't even fight remotely serious boxers, not even jokes who have only fought guys that have never won. Jake cherrypicks to such an outrageous degree that even Deontay Wilder would be embarrassed. Speaking of which... One could ask how someone who's easily hittable and has a paper chin couldve lasted 8 rounds with the man most consider to be the hardest puncher in the HW division right now - and yet we're supposed to believe that a non-boxer not only manages to tag him but manages to knock him out? Ridiculous. Szpilka's chin may be suspect against real hard punchers who land clean, but that doesn't mean he hasn't got the punch resistance to laugh off the much softer and much less clean efforts of someone like Jake Paul. I stand by what I said earlier - Szpilka would beat Jake Paul 100 times in a row.
Szpilka is a solid technician with considerable experience. Paul is a youtber side show. I would be shocked if Paul were to win.
