Dude. Its money fight. Probably they got already prepared scenario how this fight will look. Mike dont win this. He just dont lose. Money change everything. If after this "big drama show" (Sorry Mr. GGG) somebody still want pay for Tyson in the ring he probably use this opportunity.
Jake Paul once said that he could beat Jai Opetaia. I’d love to see him get it on with Opetaia. I could do with a laugh.
Now he's fighting a 58 year old man, and making lots of money. Is he a real fighter, or a phony and a grifter?
He's a sideshow act, a joke. About the worst thing about him is the pretending that he's serious, apparently unironically (unless I'm missing the joke ) At least the circus fights aren't a waste of any genuine high level talent or ability - I guess it could be worse.
For a brief moment I was hopeful it would generate interest in boxing to young fans. I’m not sure there’s any evidence he has drawn any long term interest. Seems like he’s just found a way to enrich himself financially and grow his ego. Once he finds another money maker he’s out
He brings interest to the sport whether people want to admit it or not. He is also definitive proof of something boxing fans have been saying for decades, ESPECIALLY during the peak of MMA mania (2005-2015); boxing is simply the most engaging sport for casual viewers. You aren't going to see influencer MMA, and that says a lot.
He can fight *GIVEN HIS LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE* and seems to be pretty dedicated to improving his skills…. ….so for that I voted he’s a “pretty good boxer.” …but he’s a griefer at the same time; for that fact that despite putting in the work and being pretty solid for his experience level, he refuses to take fights that would actually challenge his boxing ability, generally.
I picked "good boxer" even though I wouldn't say he's a good boxer, but calling him a "despicable grifter" is a bit too harsh so I went for the middle option. I think he's just the level of a half-decent prospect, he's absolutely nothing special, but at the same time I don't have any ill will towards him, he seems dedicated to the sport, put time and energy into it like all other boxers, it just happens that he had a name before boxing so more eyes are on him. He's a man who's earning a living by getting in the ring, I won't hate on that.
I don't have an opinion tbh. He's a man securing his future. I don't rate him as a boxer if that's what you're asking. But the problem is t Paul, the problem is the people willing to pay to watch him.
