The island has given us quite a few good ones. Guys who started out Jamaican, or who were Jamaican by fact that they had two Jamaican parents. These four are very good : Trevor Berbick (represented Jamaica in Olympics, born and died there) Razor Ruddock (Jamaican born) Lennox Lewis (both parents Jamaican, born in UK) Frank Bruno (both parents Jamaican, born in UK) Also : Alex Stewart (both parents Jamaican, born in UK, fought out of NY) Gary Mason (born in Jamaica)
Going back a while there was the UK based contender Joe Bygraves, then more recently Lennox Lewis Sparring partner and Canadian based Everton Davis. Young prospect from the 80's who lost his unbeaten run of 19-0 to Carl Williams was Melton Bowen.. Most recently a world title challenger who faced the giant Valuev was Owen what tha heck Beck. quite a few in all really for such a small island..
Don't forget a small heavyweight who eventually whittled himself down to Lt Heavy named Bunny Johnson. Was the first black British heavyweight champ and fought the likes of Duane Bobick, Richard Dunn and Danny McAlinden before heading down to 175. Scartissue
