Headlining a PBC on Fox card April eleventh @ the Armory in Minnesota, for the WBA's interim welterweight title. James is ranked WBA #5 (as well as IBF #7 and WBC #11); Dulorme is WBA #11 (and IBF #9). They have one common opponent. Yordenis Ugás Hernández defeated both of them via UD; James in August 2016 and Dulorme in the same month the following year. (note: it was rumored that if Alexander Besputin were to have tested positive for the PED ligandrol, initially detected after his already controversial UD over Radzhab Butaev - with his subsequent B sample, he would be stripped and James vs. Dulorme elevated to a match for what then would become the vacant WBA regular belt. There seems to have been no further word on this front since late January, however...) Shango has a 4" height advantage. El Francés has a 3" reach advantage.
s/o to IB and his dope ass investigative journalism skills, btw - I bet none of y'all in a million years could've sussed out what Shango's middle initial stood for on your own.
Co-main event of what is effectively a (kind of) world championship doubleheader will be Osvary David Morrell Gutiérrez Jr. vs. Lenox Alleyne for the vacant regular WBA super middleweight title (previously held by Canelo Álvarez). What's crazy about that is that Morrell, a Cuban defector, has only had two pro fights (both victories by KO).
Wow! I had heard that Morrell was an immense talent, but I didn't think he'd be moved this fast! Lennox Allen has been super inactive in recent years, but he does have a good record.
Yeah, for a third professional outing that's pretty insane. Not quite up there with Salido in your second, but...
I really dig both halves of this doubleheader, but question the decision to move it from FS1 to Fox. Good card for the die-hard, but probably shouldn't be on network TV.
This is still listed as upcoming on BoxRec and some other sites but did in fact get officially postponed a couple of weeks ago, new date TBA.
