    Round 1 James 10-9, close
    Round 2 James 10-9, close
    Round 3 Butaev 10-9
    Round 4 Butaev 10-9
    Round 5 9-9
    Round 6 Butaev 10-9
    Round 7 Butaev 10-9
    Round 8 Butaev 10-9

James corner really should consider throwing in the towel, he seems like a good guy and this is getting hard to watch. Because he's too tough for his own good.

Butaev needs a jab in there mixed in, he maybe slowing down a little too. He has a lot of potential to improve his punch mix.

    It is a beating

James' corner should pull him out, he is getting chewed up.

I wouldn't be shocked if a judge gave 3 and 7 to James, this could be a close decision if it gets there.

A way premature stoppage from a terrible ref, unless James asked for the stop that was wrong.

    Round 2 James 10-9, close
    Round 3 Butaev 10-9
    Round 4 Butaev 10-9

    Round 6 Butaev 10-9

    Round 8 Butaev 10-9
Round 9 Butaev wins by TKO

James starts out well, but Butaev comes on strong in the middle, then hurts him, backs him to the ropes, unloads. Ruiz steps in, maybe a little too soon, but it was going south badly.

Showtime announcers out to lunch. That wasn't a bad stoppage. Maybe could have let it go a little longer, but the ref warned him in the prior round.

Bad way to stop it but I get why the ref did it. James was just barely staying in that fight.
