You mean Kavaliauskas? The same guy that KO'd Avanesyan who KO'd Josh Kelly. Who took 5 rounds off of the mythical "Bud" and dropped him, that guy? Oh, and KOing Ramirez's leftoversx2, and stopping Brad Solomon and Mauricio Herrera for the first time in their careers, and stopping Vargas in the same round as Spence and Danny Garcia, counts for a hell of a lot more than stopping Lipinets, who's best win is an ancient Lamont Peterson, or stopping glass jawed Dulorme, 6 years after Bud stopped him. Ennis has accomplished next to nothing in this sport, and the only thing he's shown us is that he has power. The one guy that could land, in Eyubov, certainly was having a lot of success against him in the second round. A good pressure fighter with a chin, batters Ennis.

Credit to @CST80 for the below:
Adding to the above Ennis keeps getting fed stiffs while Ortiz jr., in less fights, has beaten a top ten welterweight. Ennis looks great but by fight twenty eight hasn't stepped up.

Why? Everytime I've seen this in boxing there is a reason.

Great he knocked out Dulorme, who has one win in his last six fights. Truly astonishing to look at but tells me nothing new.

Ray Robinson's son did put Crawford down, I'll give you that. Not sure what that scrub Kelly brings to your argument. You mixed in Virgil Ortiz. I like him. He would take a beating against Ennis though. Stopping a shopworn Vargas means what? I don't think so. Vargas had years taken off his career vs Garcia and Spence. Lipinets had not taken those types of beatings yet. Lipinets would beat Vargas. As usual you find something to hate about a certain kind of fighter. I don't get it. Ennis isn't a runner. he mixes it up when he could just use his boxing skill and have a safer fight. Things you criticize other fighters for, and he isn't an arsehole. He seems like a soft spoken kid. Does the Carolina Blue fluff he sometimes wears offend you so much as to turn you into a hater?

Stop! Ortiz was put on ***** st in his last fight. He's too slow and easy to hit for ennis who will light him up like a Christmas tree and be gone. When the fight happens and he gets hit by ennis like he did ek and goes to sleep don't say that I didn't tell you so.:deal:

Yet Ortiz isn't who's also huge at 147. Easy to tell the difference between people who have agendas and those like me who keep it real. Both are big for 147.

When Ennis fights someone with a pulse I may very well update my opinion of him but after 28 (twenty eight) fights he's still fighting cans... that doesn't make you question him at all? Your belief in him is incredible based on the eye test alone.

Let's just say the massive for the weight Vergil Ortiz has a better chin than Sergey Lipinets, a natural puny Light Welterweight who lasted 6 rounds with Ennis. Let's also say, Vergil learned his lesson and adjusted in his fight against Kavaliauskas, and controlled the range far better down the stretch. What happens if Ennis can't hurt him, because he has a better chin than Sergey and he plays it far safer early than he did against The Mean Machine and Vergil has piled up the punishment at that point? Who's going to be sitting down on their punches at that point? Who's going to be pouring on the pressure? Who's to say Vergil doesn't badly hurt him early and get his respect, causing Ennis to play it safe? How do we know Ennis has a good chin? What happens when he gets hit by someone who can land and when he lands, it's with blunt force? Who's to say they won't both be timid and scared to throw a punch, which is what occasionally happens when two massive punchers share the ring? There's far too many variables in this fight for either of us to be cocksure of the outcome. I'm only going on who's more proven, and that's Ortiz. And let's be honest, who of Ennis' opponents would Ortiz not beat? He's had half the fights and easily the better resume already.

Like I said last night, I don't have an issue with him personally, I just don't get the hype, what has he done to merit this talk of him being the future kingpin of the division? As usual, the annoying fans are overhyping and making a fighter unbearable by association, fair or unfair, that is a thing. Same thing happened with GGG, and yes, GGG fans used to annoy the hell out of me as well, before when he was unproven.

Ennis is very good but if his name was Jeremiah ''Boats'' Innis and he was from Portsmouth or the Channel Islands and looked like this you guys would be calling him a hype job.

This isn't an exaggeration, considering there's still people on here that think Manny Pacquiao is a hype job.:qmeparto: And there's been a glut of Naoya Inoue is a hypejob threads, and they were from someone you'd think would know better.
