At least this belt was won off of a champion.

Slightly underestimated Stevenson. Thought his lack of pop would allow Herring to survive the night, but the younger man came with a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove.

A good, professional, dominant showing against a so-so (decent enough but plainly limited) beltholder. Herring was tailor-made for Stevenson to sparkle, and he seized the opportunity, didn't just coast through it.

I'd love to see a Loma-Stevenson fight. That would be really interesting but I can't see Stevenson accepting that fight, though.

the kid is accurate and fast, and has very good awareness. loma wont connect on him as consistently as he is used to connecting. and i can see he will be getting stronger for a couple more years. his heart seems ok, he stood his ground like a soldier tonight. i think it would be competitive.

I love it! I hope it can be made although it will be tough to make. Tank might break him down late in that fight after getting outboxed

I'll say this for the Bobfather, he's the best matchmaker when it comes to (let's call it) showcasing his prospects.

Absolutely terrible stoppage! Stevenson could tee off on a toddler all night and not register a wobble and Herring wasn't hurt there. Sure he was getting outclassed but he wasn't hurt or taking a beating.

Stevenson is talented but I've never rated Herring. He's a scholar and a gent but he's decidedly average. His size is his biggest asset at this weight. He couldn't hang at the world level at 135 against fighters his own size. Hence why he moved down. Problem is Stevenson could match him for size and he's younger, faster and more talented.

Loma's foot work would win this fight. I see Loma getting in close and using his superior footwork to land . I wouldn't say he is faster than Loma either. Either way I'd love to see fight.

Good job by Stevenson, that's all you can ask for in a young fighter fighting someone more experienced. Herring started tentative and never even really got into the fight.

Stevenson's Strengths - hand speed, good reactions, mixes punches + combos, sets his feet for power
Weaknesses - can be flat footed, poses upright before and after punches, moves back in straight lines
Want to see him keep fighting the best, and I heard that he walks around 150 lbs, so he can keep moving up maybe.

At this point Tank. Shakur would really be on defense cause he knows Tank has power in both hands. Tank speed and footwork neutralizes Shakur's. Tank by UD or late TKO.

A champion lost his belt, so there will be several rematches right?

    No? Weird.

i would favor loma, hes tested at a higher level and experience isnt even comparable, but this kid is on the up, and loma is holding at best.
