Headlining a Top Rank on ESPN card October 23rd. WBO super featherweight title at stake, 4th defense of Herring. The undercard is so bad that none of BoxRec's editors have bothered updating its event page. Xander Yarob Zayas Castro is taking on Dan Karpency in the co-main and it's only downhill from there. Hell, tbh I don't even really want to watch the main event. It doesn't have the stylistic makings of a particularly memorable Saturday night, but is all we're getting. A disappointingly skimpy weekend considering we're only a couple of months removed from the annual downturn in boxing where typically we go several weeks between interesting or important bouts.
Stevenson on points is most likely in my opinion. I will be rooting like hell for Jamel however. Stevenson is the next fighter who everyone hates and tunes in to see him lose. I hope he loses early to spare the boxing public.
Both combatants have one first, one middle, and one last name. (hyphens notwithstanding; they do not plurality make)
Shakur wins in a dull points affair. I’m interested to see how he box’s against someone bigger than him though seeing as he likes to box as the bigger man using range in and out snipping. I hope I’m wrong though and herring smashes the woman beater.
Stevenson Decision. I want Herring to win but I think Stevenson will box his way to a decision, Stevenson will just be quicker and sharper.
Stevenson wins in a boring decision. I think Q4 looks pretty good so far, but next weekend will be a dud.
I know but i dont think reading their full names is necessary? I was thinking it was Afeni Tupac Shakur Stevenson?
Would love to be wrong but all signs point to Stevenson on points. Jamel never showed me enough against Frampton that he has the skills to beat Shakur. Tho Herring is the bigger dude, maybe he will surprise me!
