Both at their best, who takes this one? I see this fight as being very entertaining with a lot of crafty veteran tactics on display by both fighters.
I would favor Tillis of 1980-1982 to narrowly beat the Hunter of 1990-1992 on points. But it would be razor thin. Mike Hunter was a very crafty and difficult guy to look good against
Yeah I can see it like that too. That said, looking over their respective records on boxrec, on records I think Hunter should be favoured. He seems more consistent and has some useful wins on his ledger. It's just that I remember Tillis to be quite a handful when he was in form.
Prime Tillis should win this on a decision. He's a bit naturally bigger and more powerful and just as fast of hand and foot.
If truth be told Hunter probably beat a slightly better list of opponents. Only win Tillis has is over a very aged Earnie Shavers and Quick had to rise off the canvas to take a decision.
Quick wins a UD. In his prime, had the talent, but if they had only discovered that allergy thing earlier.
I took a peek at Bounty’s boxrec and realized he fought Ossie Ocasio and Dwight Qawi. It’s like someone said, ‘we’ve got this awkward guy, let’s see how many awkward matchups we can put him in.’
Like Magoo said. It'll likely be a real close match that'll come down to whoever's judging, though I'd likely favor the bigger cowboy in this matchup. This would be a duel to the bitter end with a lot of entertaining, crafty, and awkward combat happening across those 12 rounds.
