Does it really matter for how many rounds?

Anyway… the mythical Toledo Jack versus the MSG Bonecrusher who knocked the teeth and ever-loving **** out of Witherspoon…

    Who wins this one?

It would only take Toledo Jack a few seconds to come close to Bonecrusher and land those famous hooks

Dempsey mid rounds . Witherspoon entered the ring with his mind elsewhere ,with no ambition, and no focus. If he had been right it woulld have been repeat of their first fight. Smith had power but was easy to hit and had slow hands and feet and when up against a Dempsey type in Tyson he fought just to survive.Tyson allowed that to happen because he wasnt as good inside as Dempsey.Dempsey beats Smith like a drum until his ambition is drained away and he lets himself be stopped.

Use the Tyson-Smith fight for a point of reference. Once Bonecrusher feels Dempsey's power and aggression,he goes into "Just glad to be here" mode and clutches his way to the final bell.

The Manassa Mauler by a vast points victory

I think Dempsey would win on points. Might be dangerously tired by the end though.

It didn't drop Tyson, why would it drop Dempsey?

Bone crusher was another of those big body's that looked scarier than he was, he had good power but showed fear when he got cut against Holmes (OK he only had 14 fights) but he held onto Tyson like he was a life raft in an ocean storm. He was decent but nothing in Dempsey s class I think Jack's speed and power intimidate Smith who gets banged around pretty good and clutches as much as he is able. JD liked to punch in the odd places so I think he makes it uncomfortable so we may get a stop JD RSC Smith

    Dempsey outpoints Bonecrusher Smith IMO.

A surprisingly nip and tuck affair. Dempsey rocks Smith early, Dempsey tires after 3 rounds of frantic action. The start of the 4th sees a big right hand from Bonecrusher shake Dempsey to his core, but he holds enough to see the rounds end.

More trouble follows for Jack between 5 and 8 as Smith bullies him with clubbing shots. Smith can't find the finisher, though and tires down the stretch. Indeed, both are shattered in the championship rounds; Dempsey punches in bunches while Smith looks for single shots.

Dempsey launches a murderous volley of punches in the 13th and Smith is cut over the right eye. The cut bothers Smith and his work rate slows. In his corner before the 15th round Smith promises to give his all in the last and doesn't, save for a huge right that has Jack rubber legged at the end.

Dempsey wins a disputed split decision(my rules) and goes on to defend against Stan Laurel the following year. :rasta

Bonecrusher by Round 1 KO. Dempsey is a myth at this point, he got knocked out by Fireman Flynn in 20 seconds.
