I doubt a name will be released. I think news / rumours will come to light tomorrow about Froch vacating and then a date and venue will be announced on Thursday.
If it's for the IBF I'd say Dirrell but I can't see that fight being announced as soon as Thursday so maybe a fight to keep things ticking over while he waits around for Froch? Or an announcement that Froch will vacate and it will be for the vacant title but not official confirmation of the opponent.
Why should he be stripped? Defended that against his mandatory a number of times and you have people like Petersen who haven't defended that title in such a long time and you have Floyd holding onto LM belts still despite not fighting at that weight for over a year.
I reckon it will be on the 28th April show at the O2 that he mentioned in his last interview which is supposed to be a triple world title bill. Degale vs Dirrell for the IBF is almost certain.
Don't blame him it makes him the most money. I am always happy to see a PPV because generally it means there is a great night of boxing ahead, last one was questionable but I still enjoyed the card.
Think thats most likely. Eddie loves making announcements about announcements + Friday/Saturday is the deadline for any Froch Degale fight to be made isn't it?
Didn't say that was a massive night of boxing did I ****head. I separated that from the rest at the end but as I said before GENERALY, they are massive nights of boxing for the UK.
I think Hearn needs to access what makes a PPV fight and card. If it's Degale/Groves with say Quigg/Galahad as chief support then fair enough. If it's Degale/Ramirez with Quigg/his usual level of opposition then it's not PPV worthy. After Cleverly/Bellew Sky will be wary of adverse publicity of a weak main event- after all Cleverly/Bellew was the first fight not to be shown on Sky Sports after the PPV window (it was that bad).
