You know, I really hate the guy, but I don't want him to lose. First, if he keeps winning it enhances Groves reputation. Second, he is still a good prospect if he changes trainer and stops being a twat.

He has terrible fundamentals so he'll get found out again in a couple of years. Frank will be hoping the current batch of SMW titlists have moved on by then so he can capture an easy title. No way DeGale can ever beat someone like Ward.

Thing is, in subsequent interviews with Degale it appears he hasn't learnt anything from the Groves defeat. Blames everybody else but himself, his only concession is that he should have 'stuck it on' Groves from round 1. He's also said he doesn't see why he should drop McDonnell or change anything about his team/environment.

A lot of his moron fans (excluding Gasman, of course) think the same thing. Of course they ignore why DeGale didn't just stick "it" on him, which was Groves!

Groves denied him the range he likes to work at, shoved the jab in his face and chest to keep him off, and mixed up his approach enough to keep DeGale guessing.

It just exposed how little development Chunky has received. McDonnell hasn't corrected his appalling footwork or terrible punching technique.

It's a shame how things have turned out for James DeGale. I had him winning the Groves fight, but nobody wants to acknowledge how close and debatable it was in reality, and that's all down to how Groves conducted himself in the pre-fight build up. People wanted to see him lose and so that's what they saw.

And he lost, naturally. Losing the fight does somewhat present itself as losing the fight. A difficult concept, but you'll get there eventually.

degale lost a very close fight ,in a rematch degale will give groves a beat down .degale is the better all round fighter and will go on to bigger and better things, when degale sustained a attack on groves, groves held on for dear life.groves is not as good as people make him out to be,BTW degale the biggest ****** going.

I know from your other posts you’re a mong, but how the hell does losing a close fight indicate that DeGale could give Groves a beatdown?

    DeGale is infuriating.

By all accounts a nice guy in person & off camera, on screen he acts like a complete twat

He's a talented athlete, he can glide & slip past punches & make it look easy but I've seen schoolkids with better punching form

He has the potential to go on & do good things but I dont care if he does anymore

I like Degale, always have done. Don't really care about his mouth either way, im about the skill and fact is he's a talented fighter, I thought he deserved the win over Groves but no Matter, Groves has peaked and James fought too lazy in that fight

Needs a new trainer though or he will plateu

I agree. He can do good things and get his name thrown around if he gets his head down and concentrates on improving his technique. Too much talk and showboating have made him over-confident and sloppy.

I have to confess, I bought into the hype early on in his career. I thought he could do great things, but now I pretty much detest him. I met him after one of his very early fights and do think he is a sound lad - I even have a glove signed by him, which is now thrown in a drawer somewhere - but he needs to work harder and talk less.

I don't think he deserves a re-match, and I agree with an above poster - I doubt Fwank will risk it. He needs to fight a few good Euro-level opposition if he takes the title on Sat... re-build his name.

He fought well and stuck to a plan. One thing Degale does have is good movement... despite the fact he has been sloppy of late. Restrict that and you beat him. That's what Groves was doing and I sincerely believe he could do it again.
