James DeGale is not a good prospect.

You cannot consider Britains P4P number one just a mere prospect these days. Although he does need to continue massively improving to dominate world class fighters, which he eventually will, he is already the most complete fighter from Britain and displays the hunger to widen that margin.

If you think George Groves has a chance against DeGale next month, then you are insane, the guy has beaten less impressive opposition in less impressive style.

If you think Carl Froch would have a chance against DeGale in 2012 then you are insane, although less insane than the above.

Too early to say but until I've seen evidence to suggest otherwise I'm going with the guy who's proven at world level.

Way to early, he looked good against Smith but hasn't had his chin tested yet. If his chin stands up then he has the potential to be a top fighter.

He would not be in a posistion to fight Froch next year unless the wars were to seriously catch up with him.

Froch is a monster. Degale cannot beat Froch till another two years yet.

There is a lot that could happen between now and late 2012. Froch could have had at least 2 gruelling fights.

Assuming DeGale keeps improving and is as good as his performance against Smith indicated, I think he could win a very close decision.

I don't imagine he can take a punch, I havent watched his pre-Olympics stuff so maybe other people will know more. Froch would demolish him in 2012, DEMOLISH. I am a Degale fan (In the ring, he can catch on fire for all I care outside...), but dont overrate the guy. Let him just continue forward improving. He isnt THAT good yet, he still needs to learn how to punch properly and I imagine if he is put in trouble that he will panic.
