Fair point. I still don't think it was a risky fight though. I actually think the Piotr Wilczewski fight was far more risky. It was certainly a more impressive performance. Wilczewski pushed Degale very hard that night and DeGale answered a lot of questions.
I was a fan of DeGale up to the run in to the Groves fight. I understand he was playing the bad guy, but everything he came out with just made me think 'what an absolute fanny'. The stuff about Groves' breath smelling and the 'Ugly Boy' stuff was pathetic. I like a bit of trash talking, but the stuff he was coming away with wasn't even funny, it was petty, schoolboy stuff. I still think he is very talented (I scored the Groves fight a draw) and can go a long way, I just hope someone tells him to stop acting like a dick when he gets a microphone put in front of him.
I like him. He's a pretty good fighter isn't being over protected and each time i've met him he was a nice guy and had plenty of time for fans he just has a habit of acting like a twat whenever someone points a camera at him.
He needs to work on his jab. I was impressed with the speed in which he snapped it.... But he seems to be punching with the back of his hand.... Plus he still throws wide angling slaps.. (he cuffs if you like) Plenty of work still to be done.
it reads like your trying to imply that we should like him cause hes British ! I dont like the wee **** because hes an obnoxious twat and odious creep.ive had the pleasure of his company and that mixed with the way he speaks and acts is why i cant stand him ,if you or any posters dont like that then do one .
anyone that hits so hard the air from his punches puts people on the floor deserves respect [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t-MUAk-Mx0[/ame]
Degale is a cocky git but lets give him so respect. his last two fights were not pushovers and he overcame. More importantly he fought his last defense abroad on another promoters show. not abd! He a groves deserve respect for getting in the ring with each other. I have every bit of confidence that he will capture a world title but im not sure if will be in the next 12 months when considering his rocking relationship with fish eyes
He still needs to humble himself outside the ring alot more, but if he continues to keep churning out the wins, im sure he'll get himself a few more fans in the process. The groves defeat could be a blessing in disguise.
