Either that, or he didn't feel like being disemboweled by the Ooze Cat, and he's ducking like a son of a *****.
That would be insane! I can't see that fight would pay better for George as the WBSS final. Plus it would be a sh_tty move if true.
if both fighters have confidence in themselves then surly degale takes his mando groves beats smith in the WBSS and then they both take on each other ina unification fight in a smaller stadium in london obviously thats if they both fancy their chances in their respective fights groves needs to take the final though, be a bit of a d1ck move if he pulls out now, prob just a negotiation tactic to try to get some more money out of kelle, would of thought they would be clauses in his contract where he cant pull out at this stage plus its odd as the SMW final venue and date was set to be announced next week plus why would degale and BJS make sense at 168 with no belt,, cant see that selling Degale vs eubank jnr would prob sell more
DeGale knows that Uzcategui takes him out, in fact any top 10 MW or SMW does. He's done and is just looking for a final payday.
Didn't the WBSS just end run Hearn by signing with DAZN to have the WBSS on their service next season just after Eddie signed that deal where he has to produce all that content for them? A huge amount of shows from Matchroom and Schaefer & Sauerland add something like 21 fight cards to it. Maybe this is Hearn's way to stick it back to them, by blowing up their first season SMW final.
Hearn negotiated a deal for the WBSS to appear on DAZN, so he's not unhappy with the WBSS as far as I know. Indeed, he was the one who announced the deal. Hearn hasn't been finding it easy to get the required number and quality of fights for DAZN (most of the top US stars decided not to sign), so he was only too happy to sign the WBSS up. BTW this is one reason why he didn't want Joshua vs Wilder next, he wants Joshua to appear on DAZN at least once before a Showtime Wilder PPV to help fulfill his obligations to provide big names / fights.
which is fair enought IMO, he has had a half decent career along with a half decent resume. Deserves a final big payday or 2.
Thanks for clarifying, someone posted a vid yesterday making it seem like Schaefer & Sauerland signed behind his back, and Hearn wasn't even part of the deal. I thought that sounded like bull**** as Hearn has a good working a personal relationship with both
A fight with Uzcategui Wouldn’t pay much and Degale obviously doesn’t fancy getting his ass beaten all around the ring for chump change
