Ive used to always root for the other giy whenever Degale fought ever since before the Groves fight....i rooted for Groves back then and am always a bit harder to be won over by olympic gold winners because they get many advantages and paydays that others dont when turning pro ( not that many dont deserve it )

So while it was amusing to see James lose tonight.....i have to say he is rarely in a boring fight because of his flaws....so im not gonna jump all over him like others here have been

I swear going by some of the posters on here....if they had their way.....boxing would end up being floyd v floyd or lara v floyd or ward v lara or rigo v .........

Its the fighters with flaws that make it interesting......im glad james gets lazy....im glad he sits on the ropes....cause thats what makes his fights good to watch

Interesting this was the first time he spoke about making changes in camp.....outsiders have suggested this for years after losing to groves and some iffy performances

Hard road back now tho.....groves managed it but i think groves has always had a bigger fan base.

Lol, no effing way. I can't believe this, but in a weird way I can......... Man, Degale needs to take a long look in the mirror and do some serious soul searching if he is gonna continue boxing. So many gifts and so talented yet he puts in JUST enough work to go into his fights evenly matched with whoever his opponent is, yet every time he steps in the ring he SHOULD be classes above almost everyone he has ever faced. No one to blame but himself. Waste of a career and talent, hate to say it but I think Wilder is similar in that regard.

 

This is why I think Beterbiev -- or any of the top boys at 175 -- iron Yarde out; he's far too easy to hit and, as evidenced by the fact he was being tagged over and over again, doesn't seem to know how to adjust defensively or tactically. Plus, I have a sneaking suspicion that Yarde is concealing a glass mandible. If this is the case, it is a thoroughly unfortunate concoction of negatives for someone looking to step up in a division which is stacked at world level.

True, Artur looked absolutely shocking against Koelling, but that was due largely in part to Koelling being on his bike for the entire duration of the fight, spoiling in an attempt to last the distance, which caused Beterbiev to become frustrated and just look to land one big shot. He would have no such issues in a possible fight against Yarde -- because Yarde would come looking for Beterbiev, and will charge headlong into Beterbiev's big shots.

Truax deserved the nod, but can't say I am happy with the result. Benavidez could pick up this easy belt and Young Christopher can spank him and take his lunch money and belts later in the year.

 

Slightly rocked? My definition of a glass jaw must be different than yours. I don't know about iron chinned but it's not terrible infact it's got him out of trouble on a few occasions due to his shoddy defence

The story is actually bizarre

Richards supposedly poleaxes Jr and then Jr asked him to do some extra rounds and Lerrone said he had a sore shoulder!!!

Jr has some of the best sparring stories, got toweled up by Nick Blackwell, Liam Williams and Lerrone Richards but more than held his own against Cleverly, Froch, Degale and Groves.

I don't think we can take too much from all of them.

Blackwell got the business in an actual fight and so would Lerrone.
