So this is DeGale's next opponent for next month. AA took Farias out in 5 rounds a little while back.

Looking back at the RBR Farias aka Pokemon did ok and won some rounds but a bodyshot finished him.

Not a great fight but seems like Mick has plans for something in summer.

Decent enough I guess, seems as though Mick is waiting to see what happens with Bika/Bute situation before getting an eliminator but going down the wbc route seems to be hardest way of getting a world title. The whole of the division seems to be bit of a waiting game at the moment to see who goes up, who retires and when a certain promoter calls in his wbo contacts to get a shot at aa.

Spot on that Smog, All divisions always have a transition period and this next 18 months i think we will see that with SMW's. Whoever loses Froch vs Kessler will walk away or move up IMHO. Bute's a bad display or loss away from moving up. Ward may have one more fight (two max) at 168lbs before walking away to 175.

Abraham is a sitting duck on that WBO title. Dirrell is'nt relevant until he faces someone of note again. Groves and DeGale would be well advised to just hold there horses and target winner of AA vs Stieglitz. The other titles are there to be won when the major players leave 168.

The division will remain strong with younger crop and also MW's moving up sensing a chance to compete better then what they could atm. But Ward,Bute, Froch,Kessler has been a very good line up.

Bute is after Pascal it looks like. I dont think he wants anything to do with Bika especially if it means he will have to fight Ward.

**** opponent, with that lad that Bellew faced recently as well, it seems like British promoters have clocked onto the fact that the standard of boxing at the higher weights in Argentina is ****. Hence they can bring in guys with impressive-looking records that are going to roll over pretty easily, though wouldn't surprise me if DeGale made a real job of this as his ring IQ is close to zero.

I'd say Martinez, Matthysse and Maidana are pretty good actually!

I did say higher weights, so 168 upwards (generally).

Yeah, Bute beat Bika fairly comfortably I seem to recall. Can't imagine he'd be too motivated to face him again.
