    Round 6

DeGale defends smoothly with his right shoulder and footwork as Smith tries to grind his way in. DeGale is pushed into a corner and Smith opens up on him but DeGale is able to slip many of these shots while countering. Smith takes a hard left on the chin and is then hit low. DeGale takes a final warning. DeGale runs around the perimeter once time is called back in.

    60-54 DeGale

Low blows now. Also pushing ahead with the shoulders at the ropes. DeGale is a very dirty fighter. All the skills and natural talent to do it clean but he's going bad.

He definitely did seem to, but still landed the cleaner shots IMO.

    Both olympic gold medalists,
    both super middleweights
    they look soo similar
    now the same dirty fighting........

there IS no James Degale. Its just Ward from the future

Why is Degale hated so much? Didn't he win a Gold?

DeGale is not as athletically gifted as Ward or Dirrell - would you guys agree? I've only seen him fight 4 times but I've never been wowed in terms of envisioning a future P4P star.

    Round 7

DeGale backs Smith up with quick straight punches. Smith is circling with his hands up at his chin, clearly trying to devise an offensive strategy on the fly. DeGale is lighting him up with spurts of fast combination punching. Every time Smith seems to be hurt with a dip in his knees, it turns out he's just ducking defensively as he fires right back. DeGale hits Smith on the side of the head with a right hook and slips and falls.

Don't know (or care) about his personality, but he's very dirty. Schooling Smith with ease but just too much bending of the rules for my taste.

When he was coming up and unproven at the pro level, Brits didn't care for his swagger and self-praise in victory interviews.
