Understood- but by that account above anyone that doesn't fight their mandatory is a duck ? Doesn't make sense. There is often bigger and more lucrative fights apart from mandatory. Maybe you are annoyed that Cacace didnt fight Nunez- but it is not a duck.

 

If that isn’t a duck then I’m guessing you don’t feel there is such a thing as ducking? I mean, you could say Riddick Bowe didn’t duck Lennox when he threw his belt in the bin because it was more lucrative for him to get paid for multiple soft touches, then continue his rivalry with Holyfield, than risk it all against Lennox.

Like surely vacating a belt, no longer being a world champion, to avoid fighting the mandatory is the literal definition of ducking a fight.

Cacace could’ve bet on himself, defended against Nunez, then got the Wood fight.

 

Odd how a fight that was so deeply competitive for every second was also, I thought, a quite easy score. Even having just said that though, I could live with a draw.
