The best version of Douglas stops Coetzee in 6-8 rounds. But, if Buster shows up out of shape (as he often did) he likely gets stopped instead.
The Douglas that beat Tyson would dismantle Coetzee inside 8 rounds. The version who melted against Tony Tucker would get rolled right over.
Douglas and Tucker fought at a very high pace, and Douglas looked good for the first 8 or 9 rounds. I don't think Coetzee could do what Tucker did. Because Coetzee always had stamina issues. Douglas outboxed Tucker, he can outbox Coetzee.
Coetzee generally folded like a card table when he met one of the Yank athletes who wasn't on a coke bender. Not sure he possessed the mettle to push Douglas the same way. James KO10
Buster wins more often than not, and does it without a doubt peak for peak, but what's with all this Coetzee slander? Lol Coetzee consistently went 10, 12, and 15 rounds with great pros, and ALSO consistently made a good account of himself, even going in late. 10 against Thomas, Snipes, Tillis, and Dokes (didn't make it fully through the round with Michael, because he KO'ed him), 13 against Weaver (common score had him winning on points due to coming on strong in the middle to late rounds), and 15 against Tate... I'm not seeing a guy who had a "lack of stamina". Only fights he didn't last long in were late into his career and had sketchy circumstances (4:30 round against Page). I think Douglas stops Coetzee around the 9th-11th, quicker than Weaver, but not as quick as Page (Coetzee was not at his peak during that fight, but obviously still would've lost to Page if he was). This would be a fantastic fight, and I can definitely see Gerrie flooring James during the course of it, too. Good match, Timaeus (90% sure that your username is a Yu-Gi-Oh reference, lol).
