It wasn't a jab, it was a power punch - streight left hand thrown from the proper (southpaw) position. Douglas was skilled as hell - he could do it all. Jab, move, throw counter punches and beautiful combinations ending them with either right uppercut, streight left hand from southpaw position or vicious left hook to the head/body. Dude was uncredibly skilled, he just lacked motivation for the most of his fights. I suspect he didn't like training at all. But when he was at his best he was a monster

Depends a lot on what one thinks of Mike
Williams. I know I did not think much of the guy and thought his hand placement was never ever going to serve him well as he faced better competition.

His career was mostly as a good sparring partner. but as a main event heavy? Nope.

I love Buster. Elite talent, not mindset.

    He was brilliant here.

    Here's the Witherspoon-Williams fight :

Witherspoon was in excellent shape for this one, and I think the judge who gave it to Williams was well off really, but it was quite competitive and Williams' chin held up well against anything he was tagged with.
