It has more to do with the terrible glove design. The edges of the gloves are not smooth and pretty much most of the cuts come from those edges when the glove slips from the punch. The leather cuts through skin like scissors. With A.Silvas power thats not hard to do.
Well, I guess it has more to do with his good technique and precision than raw power. But results are the same.
