Actually Taylor beat Hopkins 2x if i remember correctly
:huh, and Taylor was knocking Hops around the ring pretty good in that 2005 fight..

Hopkins has never tasted the power of someone the size and caliber of Braddock, i don't think a fight like this would be to his best interest, he's going to be hit a helluva lot harder than Joe Calzaghe hit him...

Braddock was in a very competitive era. No blown up middleweight could hope to compete...

    What I learned today...

Jermaine Taylor finishes the Louis that Jimmy Braddock could not.

I hear ya, sorry i just don't have a strong enough imagination, to see a man like Braddock tough as nails, who beat the most murderous puncher of his time in Max Baer, lose to a guy who spent 95% of his career at 160- and rarely knocked out anyone there...

Hopkins went up in weight to fight Dawson, and THAT was a huge mistake, and Dawson was smaller than Baer, and not nearly as tough..

Compare whom Rosenbloom beat at 175 and whom Hopkins beat?

Braddock for me. He gave Louis a good fight, often taking the fight to Louis; can you imagine Hopkins doing that? He would spoil and run all night against Louis, claiming fouls etc. I think Hopkins is grossly overrated.

No. I choose to compare the skill-sets that the two displayed, instead.

The most undisciplined and one of the most untrained champions ever though. (and like Klompton said, Braddock really had a harder time to win that fight than what is known by most people)
