What exactly do you mean by a more dominant era?

I will grant you that Braddock got mixed results, but I think there was a lot more talent at light heavyweight in his era to be honest.

Braddock has a mile of losses...those of who were not remotely on skill and seasoned like Hopkins.

He does but a lot of this can be chalked up to his hand problems. Anyhow, these were the rankings when Braddock challenged for the light heavyweight title. Pretty stacked:

    1. Tommy Loughran, Champion
    2. Jim Braddock
    3. Leo Lomski
    4. Jimmy Slattery
    5. Jack Delaney
    6. Tuffy Griffith
    7. Maxie Rosenbloom
    8. Cuban Bobby Brown
    9. Tiger Jack Payne
    10. Pete Latzo

Braddock is very underrated. Jimmy by a unanimous decision, scoring a couple of knockdowns along the way.
