Think your doing a great job rez restoring some of these old clips. Bringing some of the old masters back in to the present day. Can tell your a true boxing fan of the classics at heart.

Great work really brings Corbett to life. Big difference in quality.

Don't worry, you didn't miss much.

Ah, almost forgot to mention. Carnera is now the goat.

Still one of the best highlights. You know Corbett reminds of Walcott a little bit with the fancy footwork.

    Thanks man.
Yeah good call, he has tricky mobility like him.
Maybe not the same styles exactly, but the same strategy.

Does anyone know who the person behind the ring ropes at 2:42 is?
I assume it's Fitzsimmons chief second?
    He looks really hyped up.

Unfortunately the best footage of Corbett is beating up on the hapless Peter Courtney. I wouldn't read a huge amount into that footage but that Corbett was leagues better than the guy he was toying with. His footwork is really striking against Fitz, a lot more impressive than his boxing above the waist, tho even that was probably adjusted to the very unique opponent he had in front of him.

Well said. Wish we had more footage, or could gleam more from what we already have.
I have great hope that the best is yet to come.

By the way, what do you guys think of the size difference between Corbett and Jeffries in the footage at the beginning?

Not too much. They are both wearing a lot of clothing. Corbett was tall and very, very fit. His weight seemed deceivingly light in regards to his strength and frame.

I have never seen Corbett as the father of modern boxing.

More a Roy Jones type talent, who had a penchant for rewriting history in his favour!
