Jones crawls around the ring at HW.

The fleet footed swift moving Corbett who can fight at an incredibly high pace for 20 round bouts would be extremely hard to reach.
Comparatively, Jones at HW is simply stationary.
Putting him against Corbett? You kidding me?

Jones didn't win the HW title. He beat a decently ranked HW tailor made for him. I don't think at any point of boxings illustrious history does RJJ become the lineal HW champion. Then again, many here think he would beat Jess Willard...

    Corbett dances circles around Jones.

That's how I'm seeing it to rez. No way am I picking Roy in 1900 over 20 rounds to defeat Corbett.

The first time Corbett tries that feint where he sticks his chin out and casts his arms aside, Jones hooks his coifed bobble head into the third row.

Its too late RJJ has already become the modernists science fiction monster. Nothing can stop him now.

It isn't like Jones has to come in above 200 lbs for the fight though. I think a 175-180 lbs Jones in his prime is just too fast for Corbett. I love the oldtimers and Corbett is one of my favorites, but I just think he took advantage of guys who weren't as quick and as fleet-footed as him. With Jones, those advantages are taken away. I'm not saying Corbett definitely would lose, but I would have to favor a prime RJJ over a prime Corbett here. I think someone like Fitzsimmons who had better one punch KO power would have a better chance against Roy. By the way, love your YouTube videos...keep up the great work!

In the old days with an old skool ref, over twenty rounds and old rules, I think Corbett does him. But my pick is not confident. In modern times it may be very different. Good match up.

Has anyone picking Corbett actually seen the footage? Doubt it. Or just victims of nostalgia and what we're supposed to think via contemporary writers of the time.

    Watch both fighters objectively.

Jones would absolutely embarrass Corbett. Not competitive for long. 20 rounds? I would bet my life it wouldn't go 20, and Corbett wouldn't be the winner.
