Luis Ortiz lost a close decision to Corbett in 1898, but in fairness, it was a green Ortiz who didn't really hit his stride until the 1980s. The version that faced Deonkey was well past his prime. Hard to tell based on their common opponent imo
Of course he'd beat Wilder. I could care less how hard the dude punches, Corbett's not gonna run right at Deontay with his chin sticking straight out & a giant neon sign on his head that says "punch here", like Helenius.
Wilder has knocked down Fury several times, who is much bigger and heavier than Corbett, Corbett's only chance is not to find himself in the ring with Wilder...
I've been on the Wilder hate wagon for a really long time but you've got brain problems if you think Corbett beats Wilder.
I don't 'hate' Wilder, or any other fighter. Just call them like I see them. As far as brain problems I'm right as rain, no problems there mother, please call me when lunch is ready.
This made me spit out my coffee. Anybody know what the reach advantage for Wilder would be in this one? And if Corbet't's ass would be covered for the fight?
