all I can say is, while I was researching heavily for that 3 year period, it was enough to say that if Tracy Callis rated him Tops, that was good enough for me.

my own understanding of Jeffries was his immense STRENGTH, WILL and Endurance was all that was required... He had the STRENGTH of an Olympic Style Wrestler, a Farmer and just Hard Living Perseverance.

Well add to that Boxing Training, Skill and a reasonable level of Athletic Mobility, I'd say there not to much more that goes into a Champion Package, Anyway here's what Many of the TOP Boxing Analyst and Scribes had to say about Jim Jeffries.

He clearly enjoyed very strong endorsements, both during his career, and long after.

Perhaps that is what makes him so fascinating!

I'll have to listen to the comments from the computer fights too.

The actual computer fight is obviously garbage, but I've seen other ones and some of the interviews are interesting.

Jeffries was monster in his prime. One of the best body punchers at HW with unbreakable chin.

Is there any decent video of Jeffries outside of the Jack Johnson fight? It seems like I remember seeing a grainy video of one other Jeffries fight, but maybe I’m getting it confused with someone else.

I would suggest that dozens of fighters after him would finish him first.

Do we know anything about his head movement? I know he did well job protecting his chin behind the shoulder and he protected himself well against straight lefts.

"If Tracy Callis rated him tops, that was good enough for me".

Sure... If you can't form your own opinion, that's the way to go.

Going by the footage against Ruhlin , he doesn't appear to have had any.

There are clips of both the 2nd Sharkey and the 2nd Ruhlin fights out there, but neither are very good quality.

of course sensible and reasonably intelligent people DO form their own opinion,

however, only fools 'disregard' the work of those who proceeded us... and that can be in Both Support or Disagreement!

you deliberately neglected to italicise my opinion of course...

my own understanding of Jeffries was his immense STRENGTH, WILL and Endurance was all that was required... He had the STRENGTH of an Olympic Style Wrestler, a Farmer and just Hard Living Perseverance.

Well add to that Boxing Training, Skill and a reasonable level of Athletic Mobility, I'd say there's not too much more that goes into a Champion Package,

Anyway here's what Many of the TOP Boxing Analyst and Scribes had to say about Jim Jeffries.

I suppose it all depends on what importance you give Callis' opinions?
