Absoloutley! We don't need to look any further than Tunney! It's not hard to imagine someone of his intellect, ring generalship and boxing ability to outbox Jeffries over 15 rounds. Easier said than done of course and if we extend the rounds to 20 or deeper, we might have to fast forward to someone like Archie Moore or Ezzard Charles to find someone that we could favour.

 

Yeah, Tunney without a doubt. It would have been a stellar victory for Gene Tunney. Possibly Conn, Charles and Loughran as well.

 

Tunney would beat Jeffries simply because he was great at heavyweight and light heavy, Charles was one of the greatest fighters that ever lived, also is there footage of Jeffries fighting that well, boxing wasn`t very advanced back then save Johnson and Stanley Ketchel, I`d pick Moore to win because he dropped Marciano.

 

Spinks because he knocked out Cooney and Moorer had around 12 first round KO`s at heavy which I find dubious because the vid showing his KO`s I think were including his light heavyweight days, he was one of the hardest hitting light heavies of all time but was chinny. Foster`s reach might be too much for Jeffries, Roy Jones would of been too quick also.

 

Louhgran...nah. He rates below someone like A Moore.

 

I’d pick Tunney, Spinks, Conn, Moore, R Jones and Charles to beat Jeffries.

Dwight Qawi, H Johnson, Louhran, Greb all have a decent shot as well

Listen, loughran was great, he outboxed max baer, James Braddock. He had a great left hand.

His knockout loss to sharkey makes me hesitant he can handle Jeffries power, but as long as he doesn’t get caught he could pull off what Corbett nearly did

Yeah, both Valuev-Haye and vs Chagaev both have eclipsed Carnera-Loughran in recent years....but the size disparity was, IMHO the only reason Carnera beat Tommy.
