You've seen what everyone else has seen with parts of rounds missing. My point being Ruhlin is not just running. He is attempting to tie up the 18lbs heavier Jeffries who is trying to use his weight and strength to maul Ruhlin.

They are similar, because the fight was a one sided slaughter by Jeffries.

Jeffries was stalking Ruhlin and won easily.

I don't understand how people can make huge negative conclusions about Jeffries from this short clip.

What would the huge negative conclusions be?
That Ruhlin looks faster on his feet?

Would anyone be more impressed with Jeffries against Ruhlin if he was just charging in like Dempsey against Firpo?

I have seen a lot of criticism from you (on different accounts) against Jeffries just from this short clip.

Jeffries patiently broke Ruhlin and dominated him. What else would you expect from him?

All I said was Ruhlin looked the faster on his feet and that is my honest opinion.
    Do you disagree?

There is a case for Jeffries ,of that I have no doubt. His durability would keep him in the fight. Against that anyone Dempsey could reach he hurt. The referee might have a big impact on this matchup.

I just believe Dempsey was much faster and threw with better technique, I believe the times had evolved by Dempsey’s era, they threw in combination and countered punches better which was what worked

Dempsey was a revelation, no heavyweight like him had been seen before.

The problem with Jeff's so-called durability is that it was tested to its limits by a very light (quite old) trapsetter and essentially one-punch guy and a feckless, learning on the job swarmer. A skilled, dynamic front foot fighter with elite power like Dempsey would push Jeffries to a place beyond where those guys could get him.

I agree with this but saying so always gets you into a situation where Jeffries fans think you are dumping on him.As late as 1902 a 2 years retired Fitz ,nearly 40 years old badly smashed Jeffries face up, and observers stated Jeffries only won because Fitz was so much lighter,12 years older, and his hands went on him.Repeating this is apparently sacrilege. If an old Fitz could do that ,what could Dempsey do?

"Jeffries had reason to be confident. The much bigger man, he outweighed Fitzsimmons by more than forty pounds. Despite this, Fitzsimmons took the fight to the champion in the early rounds and inflicted a vicious battering. As early as the second, Jeffries was bleeding from the challenger’s sharp punches, which soon broke Jeffries's nose and opened deep cuts around both eyes. But Jeffries was nothing if not tough, and he waited patiently for his opportunity to strike back.

It came in the eighth round. After several blistering exchanges, Fitzsimmons inexplicably paused, lowered his guard, and spoke to Jeffries, taunting him. The champion’s response was a hard right to the belly followed by a thunderous left hook that put Fitzsimmons on the floor and ended the fight. When the challenger later approached the champion to congratulate him, Jeffries regarded Fitzsimmons through swollen, bleeding eyes and said, “You’re the most dangerous man alive.” Anyone looking at the combatants’ faces would have been astonished to learn the unmarked fighter was the loser, while the man sporting a visage marred by lumps and bloody gashes had proven victorious."

In passing, how would that version of Fitz make out with a peak Dempsey?
