He was overweight to the point of flabby for the Munro fight ,he knew he was in with a no hoper and trained accordingly. This photo prior to the start shows him to be sporting a paunch and soft looking. Munro has an ass on him like and old lady.Jeffries did not weigh in for this fight but was reckoned to be between230 and 240lbs, and he looks it here. This content is protected
Jeffries weight was announced as 224.5lbbs, though some sources suggest that he weighed more. He was said to be 250lbs at the start of training camp. Whatever his weight for the fight, his training regime was clearly very intensive, and documented in more detail than for any of his previous fights.
There was no official weigh in, but various weights were published. The photo's don't seem to be very conclusive one way or the other.

All weights were guestimates and Jeffries is clearly flabby with the beginnings of a paunch in the photo.Compare his body to his pictures for his comeback 5 years later, in those he has a six pack. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
When you have numbers like 224.5, you are not looking at an estimate. An estimate would be 220, 230, or 225 if you were ridiculously confident in you ability to estimate. A number like that, suggests some sort of unofficial weigh in. As for the photos, they just prove that Jeffries wasn't killing himself, to get to a low weight any more.
I refer you to Pollack's biography, there were several figures bandied about , but no weigh in! Does he look ripped as in other fight photos, or does he look a bit soft and flabby YES OR NO! Jeffries spent a large part of his training camp for that fight fishing! He knew the result before he entered the ring!
The figures bandied about were likely based on some sort of unofficial weigh in. If you think otherwise, then that lends credibility to the idea that Bob Fitzsimmons, was much bigger than advertised! Jeffries doesn't look in the best condition in that picture, but the way that he arches his back, makes it hard to tell. In any event, he said after the fight, that he had not tried to drop weight, and that this had helped him!
