Pardon my French, but you are really making a fool of yourself with this childish whining. The information I send to Adam is a missing fight, which has been recently added to Box Rec, some news clippings from primary sources, and a few ideas on where to look for new information. No more, no less. Opinions are fine. Your problem is when news reads or films do not coincide with your opinions on Lil' Arhtur. Ever since I poitned them out to you in a fair debate fashion you have had an ax to grind.
Jeffries in his prime was a strong big man, you must throw out the Johnson fight...Jim was inactive for 6 years and had to lose 100 lbs for the fight at the age of 36please.....Liston was the more advanced fighter and had a terrific weapon in his jab and could wack with either hand but lets not say Jeffries did not fight men with power. Sharkey was a strong puncher and Fitz was also but Liston would be one the hardest puncher Jeffires faced and the biggest. Taking all that into consideration and merging both era's I think it would be a toss up fight...The early rds Jeffires would be tested but I favor his strength as the fight went on...Jeffries showed a lot of heart in his career even in his loss to Johnson when he was completly shot...Do we take into account Holmes devastating loss to Tyson or Ali's loss to Holmes so why should we take a fight against the worlds best after a 6 yr layoff and add it to a prime Jeffies....I did not see much of Jeffires but from what i have seen and heard he was an amazingly strong man with some speed and relexes....I favor Liston off to a better start but as the fight progresses Jeffries chances increase and this fight could go the distance 12-15-20 rds and I think its a toss-up...but Ill say Liston SD 12, Jeffires SD 15 and Jeffies tko Liston in 19 in a 25 rd fight
Judging by the many spelling and punctuation mistakes,[ an unusual amount ,even for you], drink may have played its part in writing this desperate defence of Jeffries, who by the way I have not attacked ONCE in this thread. Jeffries brother has 4 traceable and verifiable fights. 1 win ,1 draw, and 2 losses ,1 by ko. Did he really ko Johnson's nose? I have agreed with Janitor that Jeffries was probably faster on his feet than Liston, lets face it, it wouldn't be hard would it? No one has contended that Marshall was as good as Choynski, he may however have been appreciably better than Finnegan or Munroe ,[2 of Jeffries title challengers.] What relevance has Jeffries being injured in his second fight with Sharkey , have to do with how he would perform against Liston?:huh Anything wrong with Jeffries arm in his first fight with Sharkey? Your post made no points , or sense , at all, it was just a ramble of half sentences and pathetic ,personal jibes at me. You are a disappointment to yourself ,and to me. "Oh that I had a foe worthy of my steel " Are you familiar with that quote ? ps. I have located a print of Jeffries in a brief training leotard, the copious hair on his chest and shoulders is clearly visible ,standing out in stark relief, with the sun behind him, he has 'bulges' in several places. Would you like me to send it to you for onanistic purposes? :tong Brush up on your English [and your Shakespeare], and present me with a rational ,objective debate, and I will post it to you, you naughty boy! :thumbsup
Pardon your French ! You can't even speak English LIL ARHTUR ? WHO IS HE, some relation of Asterisk the Gaul ? Keep POITNED them out, your'e the man:good
I dont think any rational poster would believe that Jeffries performance against Johnson would have any relevance to this debate. I certainly don't . Jeffries was clearly shot for that fight. That would be like giving Johnson great credit for koing the shell of Bob Fitzsimmons. Prime for prime, Jeffries would be a VERY hard fight for Johnson, and though I think Johnson would shade it, I have no problem with anyone believing the opposite. Back to the thread which keeps getting side tracked Liston v Jeffries ? My pick is Liston ,but I agree the longer it goes the better Jeffries chances, the danger for Jeffries is being stopped by tko imo. Liston is not koing Jeff ,neither imo is Jeff koing Liston early, he might wear him down though if Liston gasses.
Says the man who can't form a paragraph, looks ******ed with his random spacing of sentences, and uses CAPS and smiley faces as his crutch.
I'll say this for you, you are a trier, pathetic ,but a trier. ALL HAIL MENDOZA , THE JOE GRIM OF THE CLASSIC SECTION ! ps. Whats it feel like being owned? Pretty horrid, I should imagine. I wish I could say you are a worthy adversary with ,considered ,constructive, objective ,and rational arguments. But life's too short to tell lies.:nono
to be honest though about this thread today because of a thread in the lounge and have not read the thread you are on about
Missah Jim,,,,,,,, Turned pro at age 20, without too much boxing experience. His strength,,,,,,,,was his strength,,,,,,not his skill. The 'MAN' retired at age 29, when there was nothing else to do. The bout versus Jack Johnson, was nothing more than an 'exhibition'.
Did you know Apollo Creed's trainer is none other than Tony Burton. A one-time State of Arizona Light-Heavyweight Champion from 1958. Tony, also fought Lamar Clark in 1959, the same fighter who later took a 'dive' versus Cassius Clay. This content is protected 'This is supposed to be an exhibition'
