what i find interesting is that it seems like Johnson fights like the fighters of today while Jeffries fought like bareknucklers
Jeffries and Johnson? I think Johnson undoubtedly. Johnson had a more evolved style for gloved contact in my opinion combined with great speed.
all i know is black prince jackson would have stomped both their asses had he ever fought them. of course i think he was dead at the time this happened.
Got ya. Johnson just looks like the first modern heavyweight champ. btw, reading old boxing articles is such b.s, they exaggerate like none other. You would think guys really punched each other out of the arena and caved their faces in, a reason why I think so many fighters with little video coverage become so overrated.
I can see that. The thing about Johnson, I think people tend to overrate his boxing skills because they fall in love with his accomplishments. Don't get me wrong, he did some really amazing things, but I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at. He was Ko'd by a really limited Jess Willard, and had a helluva hard time with a middleweight, and his best win is against a really past prime Jeffries.
but good video, thanks for posting I enjoyed it. Is that from that Documentary that was on PBS a few years ago?
