The reason he wasn't allowed to purchase guns was because it was a violation of his parole. Felons do lose certain rights - I'm not sure you want somebody who was convicted of armed robbery being allowed to purchase guns.
This is nowhere as bad as people thought. I remember it was being said he wouldnt be out for another 8-10 years. This really is nothing.
Plaxico Burress Lawyer needs his ASS whipped. Kirkland was a convicted felon of a violent crime!!!! And is caught with an un-license firearm and gets 2 years and credit for time served. Yet Burress has a registered and license pistol...Did not brandish it, nor show it in plain view...and accidentally shot HIMSELF...Never been convicted of a felony...AND HIS LAYWER CUTS A PLEA FOR 2 YEARS!!! Any decent Attorney could have argued that with NO criminal record, A LICENSE GUN OWNER, Who simply had the weapon for protection...simply deserves Probation. And he could have sweetened the deal, having a small portion of his salary go to victims of GUN VIOLENCE. But is NOW A CONVICTED FELON...And serving 2 years for STUPIDITY...ALL BECAUSE HE HAD A BAD ATTORNEY!!!!
Stop chattin ****, you thick ****. I am rejoicing everyday McClellan suffers, he deserves to suffer more IMO. Anyone involved in animla cureluty deserves to suffer brain damage and be forced to live the rest of there days not being able to **** by themselves.
Gerald is a human being you ****. Yeah what Gerald did was wrong but at the end of the day they were dogs not people. You sound like one of this nerdy PETA wack jobs.
At the end of the day I'm happy in the knowledge that, that ignorant piece of **** namd Gerald McClellan is suffering, cant see, cant feed imself, cant **** for himself, can barely walk. This is justice.
It was always going to happen, and in the scheme of things it's actually good news if he could be out in 6 months. Some people were predicting he could get 5-10 years.
And what about his family, who have to care and look after him 24/7? Do you not feel any sympathy for them? Grow the **** up. Yes what he did was wrong, but I wouldn't wish that on anybody. And most of all, I don't think anybody deserves to have their life turned up-side down in having to care for somebody in that condition.
damn shame. These boxers who come from a tough neighbourhood seems to have a tendency to get in trouble
You guys do know that june of 2010 is a mere 9 months away right, at which point Kirkland would be only 26 years old and out of the ring for only 15 months. That isnt going to be a big problem...The big problem will be if he can stay out of prison.
Good post, yes Kirkland was a convicted felon. His crime was armed robbery (in which he used a gun), of course it was a violation of his parole. And because he is a convicted felon, he may never be able to own a gun.
